How do I handle price negotiations with customers?

Know your walk-away price
Before any negotiation, decide your minimum acceptable price. Below that, the deal isn't worth your time or risk. Stick to this number. Customers respect clear boundaries more than endless haggling.
Offer value instead of discounts
Instead of "I'll lower the price," offer "I'll include this extra service" or "I'll deliver faster." This preserves profit while feeling like a concession. Ask what matters most to the customer—speed, features, or payment terms—and adjust accordingly.
Explain your pricing
Many customers negotiate because they don't understand what they're paying for. Clearly explain what's included, what your costs are, and why your price is what it is. Transparency often ends price objections. If a customer still insists on a lower price, they may not be a good fit.
